MHDC HOUSE EXTENSION
MALVERN, WORCESTERSHIRE
Osbornes was appointed by Malvern Hills District Council to extend the existing council house, in order to provide an accessible entrance for a public services reception together with additional meeting spaces. The existing council house known as Priory Mansion is a grade II* listed Victorian gothic villa in Great Malvern which has great local historic importance.
Any additions to this building needed to be sympathetic to the existing. The design of the extension draws from a similar pallet of materials and forms as the existing building, however, they are used to help create a contemporary feel, whilst at the same time never detracting from the main building.
The completed project provides a much needed, easily accessible point for members of the public, and versatile internal spaces for existing staff.
