Halfkey Farmhouse is a new domestic property in Malvern. It replaces an existing farmhouse, with a new property more suited to the client's needs. The design of the house is contemporary without eschewing tradition, it takes inspiration from traditional forms and techniques which are found within the local vernacular. The design creates an open, naturally bright spaces which allows dramatic views to the surrounding countryside.
Whilst the house has a largely traditional appearance a conscious effort was made to reduce co2 emissions. The house is fitted with a ground source heat pump and a mechanical ventilation and heat recovery system. The WC's and washing machine are also fed by a rainwater harvesting system that collects water from the roof.
