THE FUSION BUILDING
JACKFIELD
The Artisan’s at FUSION building was constructed during 2006 and opened in May 2007. It is adjacent to the Ironbridge Gorge Tile Museum on the footprint of the original building which was a foundry of nonferrous metals, hence the name ‘FUSION‘.
It was funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, Advantage West Midlands, Shropshire Partnership, European Regional Development Fund along with many individuals.
Due to the restrictions on buildings within the Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site it was given special permission to be built to house creative artistan’s to manufacture, design and inspire by way of the courses they offer.
